Tagged by Melinda...Family and Friends

Rules of this Tag:

1. Answer the questions about the list of friends and/or family on your blog.

2. If you don’t have 18 names answer the question about the next name that you have not had a question for on your list.

3. Tag 5 people

When did you first meet the first person on your list?

My first recollection of meeting Melinda (in the second estate) was on December 7th 1983 after having several months of getting aquainted in utero. She was tiny and sweet and it was love at first sight. What a joy she has been to our family!

What do you like about the third person on your list's blog?

Rachel has great enthusiasm and enjoys getting everyone involved in supporting one another. She finds fun everywhere she looks, and looks for ways to be a fun and supportive wife and mother. I love her photography and her singing and her writing. Very talented individual!

What do you like best about the fifth and sixth people on your list?

# 5 Kathy is a dedicated wife and mother. She looks for ways to increase her spirituality and be a good example to her family and friends. Her children are remarkable people who reflect the love and good nature she has shared with them. Kathy is a wonderful sister and is always sharing uplifting things with me and helping me to be a better person. (Love ya Kathy)

# 6 Sarah H. We have met only a few of times, but I have been very impressed with Sarah's desire to have a strong relationship with the Lord and with her family. Her children are a light in her life and she is a strength to those around her. She has made me feel welcome and a part of her family, and I really appreciate that she has been there for LaNita...a good sister.

How long have you known the ninth person on your list?

I have known Sarah F since October of 1983...I met her during our move to California from Illinois when we stopped to visit her family in Oklahoma. She was just a couple of months old.

What impresses you about the eleventh and twelfth people on your list?

#11 LaNita...What this gal sets her mind to do, she does! She has great fortitude and stick-to-it-iveness. Her "stubborn streak" has worked in her favor on many occasions:) She loves to be different and does not let what others think intimidate her. She enjoys helping others and loves to tackle a "project" whenever the circumstances permit.

#12 Michelle...I don't know Michelle as well, but I think she displays a "happy-go-lucky" attitude much of the time and is very happy to share her talents and her knowlege with others. She is creative in the kitchen and spreads sunshine, lifting others. She has a real love for animals and would have many more pets if they were tolerated well by Mark:)

What is a memory you have with the sixteenth person on your list?

I remember Steph and Jeff at the Bear Lake reunion. You could tell by the way they gazed at each other that they were very much in love. They had a limit to the kissing they could do and it was so cute to watch them after they had filled their quota...mmmm, holding hands and gazing at each other with such longing...(is that enough Steph?)

Say something nice about the eighteenth person on your list.

I don't have 18...Calista is my choice since I got to say something about my other girls. Calista is a wonderful homemaker. She has honed her skills in canning, cooking, baking, organizing, quilting, sewing, snuggling, singing, and reading to her kids. She is witty, and is a delight to those who know and love her!

Madison's quilt...done!

Here is the finished quilt, also pictured are a pillow case and a dolly quilt. Not pictured...there are also curtains

Someone requested that I do a close up to show the quilting. I'm still not sure you can see it, but here it is. There are lots of loopy loops and some of them appear to be hearts. If you could see the side I started on and progress to the side I finished on you would see how I got better (or braver) as I went along.

Here is a closer view. I just really had fun doing these, they aren't anything to put in a quilt show, but if there was a "Just for love" quilt show out there, they would rate #1. I hope the grandkids will enjoy these for a long time. (I obviously am referring to all of the ones I have done so far, they are not all pictured here) I am still having a difficult time with the cold and cough I have. I stayed home from church and slept much, also called in sick on Monday and went to the DR again. More antibiotics and a cough syrup with codiene so I could sleep at night. If it's not better by Friday, it's back to the DR again.

Tag...Then and Now

Rules: Go through pictures and memories taken (or given) in an identical situation, to find something that you can compare with now. Use pics or don't, and we'll see how life has changed from then...to now. Tag two people to pass it on.

OK...so I know I did this one little tag in 3 different posts, but I couldn't find the pictures in my file and get them to the post like I wanted to, and I finally figured out how to copy the rules from Sarah's post and put them on mine...I'm learning, but not very quickly!

I tag Esther and Melinda

Then...about 1953

Bill and Jeff at about 18 months old. Notice the cloth diaper...and dig that old wagon! I keep thinking Dallas looks so much like his G'pa Reid at this age! I thought it was pretty cool

Now...2007

Last year Bill's brother came to visit and we got the first picture of them together in a long time!
