Witches' Night Out

There is much excitement as we all prepare for the "Witches' Night Out. It's a long standing tradition at Garder Village in West Jordan.

Brad and Destiny rode the bus down from Boise to join us for a great weekend!

Destiny wove ribbons and flowers in her hair...

Brad went Goth, he had me paint his nails black...
Blow drying the "glue" in Wesley's hair....

Brad and Destiny, Wes and Ruth. Destiny was the makeup artist...didn't she do a fantastic job?!

And Bill, and myself...the wizard and witch. No make up for us...

Here's a picture of the gals from work that did Witches' night out...Merrilee, Lanett, (me) Robin, Wendy and Christie. This is our 2nd year going...

And then I just had Bill snap pictures of witches from all around...

The costumes were so varied...

The longer women have been going, the more elaborate their costumes...

There was no end to the creativity....

This witch had the grossest teeth! She sat by the door to the restaurant and "cackled" at everyone...It was a great effect.

And such a sweet grandma witch...

Another group of witches...

That's it from our camera, I want to post some of the pictures from Brad's camera, but will have to wait. This has been lots of fun, we're glad our boys and their girlfriends joined us.

Sub-hymn-inal

Annette sent me this e mail and I decided it was good enough to post. Very funny...very true!

Oh...Happy Birthday Annette!!

"Subliminal Hymns"

As Latter Day Saint women, we are practically obsessed with anxiously engaging ourselves in good causes...maybe it's subliminal.

Glancing through the hymnal last Sunday I noted that as sisters in Zion, we who are called to serve are all enlisted to go marching marching forward because the world has need of willing men to all press on scattering sunshine. We wonder if we have done any good in the world today because we have been given much and want to do what is right, keep the commandments, press forward with the saints, choose the right and put our shoulders to the wheel, going where he wants us to go. However, as the morning breaks high on the mountain top, truth reflects upon our senses, and while we still believe that sweet is the work, we also realize that we have work enough to do ere the sun goes down. Thus we ask ere we part, where can we turn for peace?

Anyone else need a nap???

Feeling good!

When I checked everyone's blog tonight I realized if anyone looked at my blog they would think I was still sick. I am feeling quite good this week! Antibiotics really help to kick the infection:) I have been going to bed earlier and sleeping very well.

I did scouts today, they made catapults last week for their engineer activity badge. This week they got to have a "marshmellow war" with their catapults. It was great fun, I was glad they had their war outside though:) Next week will will be making terrariums. I have 9 very active boys and they really wear me out, but it's great

Well, time for bed so I am signing off. Have a great day!
