Change of plans (pout)
We have been following the news very closely and I was already a little worried. Then Steve called this morning and said the Portland office cancelled work today because of ice and snow etc. By the time I got on the vanpool to come home from work Bill called and told me I could start crying because we weren't going to Oregon.
To make a long story short I was on the phone quite a while with a Delta rep trying to sort out what to do with our reservations. When we were finished she had us booked on a flight to Oregon AFTER Christmas (Friday) and returning home on Sunday. About 48 hours to visit the kids and grandkids...BUMMER.
A while later a customer service agent from Delta called back and asked if I was happy with the arrangments. NO! She asked if we would like to extend our stay (changing the ticket for no additional fee) It still isn't what I want, but we will be able to stay till Tuesday instead. That is much better. ANyway...those are our revised Christmas plans. We'll spend Christmas Eve with Kathy's family in Sprinville...(so we'll get to see Nicia and Joe!) Then we'll be home with Wes on Christmas day and off to Oregon the next day. We'll take what we can get..."Come what may and love it" Merry Christmas to all of you!

Sub-hymn-inal
Oh...Happy Birthday Annette!!
"Subliminal Hymns"
As Latter Day Saint women, we are practically obsessed with anxiously engaging ourselves in good causes...maybe it's subliminal.
Glancing through the hymnal last Sunday I noted that as sisters in Zion, we who are called to serve are all enlisted to go marching marching forward because the world has need of willing men to all press on scattering sunshine. We wonder if we have done any good in the world today because we have been given much and want to do what is right, keep the commandments, press forward with the saints, choose the right and put our shoulders to the wheel, going where he wants us to go. However, as the morning breaks high on the mountain top, truth reflects upon our senses, and while we still believe that sweet is the work, we also realize that we have work enough to do ere the sun goes down. Thus we ask ere we part, where can we turn for peace?
Anyone else need a nap???
Feeling good!
I did scouts today, they made catapults last week for their engineer activity badge. This week they got to have a "marshmellow war" with their catapults. It was great fun, I was glad they had their war outside though:) Next week will will be making terrariums. I have 9 very active boys and they really wear me out, but it's great
Well, time for bed so I am signing off. Have a great day!

True Confessions
We ordered some popcorn from Kellen, it came a couple days ago. One of the things we ordered was their caramel corn with cashews, pecans and almonds in it. I so wanted to reach in and get a handful of nuts with my popcorn right? Well, it wasn't going to happen...there weren't as many nuts as I was hoping for and they (of course) had all shifted to the bottom of the can during shipping. Bill caught me rolling the can from side to side and reaching in for the nuts. (This is a bad thing?) So he told me if I ate any more nuts from the can I would forfeit the other can of caramel nut popcorn...ie, it would be HIS can and this would be MY can. This morning he went to a priesthood meeting in Salt Lake at the conference center. I was left alone with the popcorn. It wasn't long before I realized I had eaten, well maybe not ALL the nuts, but all the ones I could find. I had to go to the store anyway but I put nuts on my list. Before he came home I had opened the can of "Poppycock, Just The Nuts" broken them up and stirred them through the caramel corn. Safe! Of course I couldn't keep it from him, I had to tell him why there was such a great nuts to popcorn ratio, he had a good laugh and I am still in the running for the other can of caramen nut popcorn:)
We did take pictures of us rafting the Payette over Labor Day weekend and some pictures of our weekend get away in the mountains with Karen and Aaron, Jim and Connie, but the rafting pictures have to be developed because we bought a disposable waterproof camera for the water trip. The others, Bill down loaded onto the computer, but I can't find them. Also I will have to get pictures of the towels Kathy taught me to do and then I will post that too.
We are going to a Pway ward reunion this evening and then (hopefully) we will drive home on the NEW Legacy Highway. It opens at 5PM today...yeah! Hopefully that will take a load off I-15

5 Random things about me
1. I have another "worry sore" on my lip! I have got to stop worrying about things I can't change... a problem I have suffered with all my life!
2. This week I am painting 28 fairies for a friends "Kinsinyera" (sp? ...sound it out...it's a Hispanic tradition of the young woman's 15th b'day).
3. Yesterday at 4:30 in the morning I picked up a bread knife to slice some apple cranberry bread. I should have been fully awake when operating said knife because before I knew it...I had cut the tip of my left thumb off! Now it's only about an 1/8th of an inch...but it bled profusly, long after I went to work. I had to go to the infirmary where "Safety Dave" applied alcohol...triple antibiotic and a bandaid. He asked why I didn't go to the Dr and I replied that my Dr wasn't in at that hour of the morning, and there was no need for stitches so it would be a waste of money to go to the ER. They agreed and let me stay at work.
4. I am so excited about summer shutdown! My girls fly in with their kids on the 18th and I get to spend time with them before we go to the family reunion!! Our plant is closed from Friday 18th at noon till the 28th of July.
5. Today was my Webelos meeting...we started work on the Athlete activity badge. They really needed that, they are a real active bunch of boys:)
I tag...who? I can't remember who has been tagged...how about Sarah F, LaNita M. and Lindsey.

Reid Cousins Family Reunion
OK I was doing good to even remember the wive's names till I got home, so this is Matt and Jolene, 3 little boys, then a girl. They were here visiting from Spokane Washington.
This is (An)Drew and Janelle. They have 3 little girls, but we were having a hard time rounding everyone up. So here they are with the youngest. They live here in the area.
Back row here is (left to right) Chad Auggie and Sharon. Front row, Chase, Nick and Sabrina...They live in South Jordan, it was in their subdivision where we had the get together.
Jenny and her 2 girls here from Eugene Oregon...(Hubby had to work)
Becky's son Josh
The little ones all had a great time in the park and in the small pool nearby. And the rest of us visited and ate off and on all afternoon. It was great to be together and see this much of the family again!

Photo Tag
Ok, I got these out of order somehow, but it was fun and Bill helped me (The techno retard)
Rules are to take pictures of the items listed below to help us get to know you better.
A current project you are working on...
Another quilt top...this is one I bought at a yard sale and didn't like the layout, so I took it apart and am trying to make a queen sized quilt out of a twin. It is still a project because I have made several artisic mistakes and don't want to take it out again.
This old brass bucket Bill got from Grandma Reid and is reported to have come across the plains with Elizabeth Jones (one of his ancestors). It has long ago lost it's handle, but we used it by the woodstove in Kuna for ashes. Currently it is serving as the wastebasket in the office.
These look pretty bad, but are comfortable and seem to me to have plenty of wear left in them...so they keep getting worn.
Something from your childhood...
This is my blessing dress. My mother made it for me 53 years ago. Mariah was also blessed in this dress and all my girls have worn it. I can't be sure, but at least one of my grandaughter's have worn it also...now it is put away.
I love "Return To Me"...It was billed as a romantic comedy, but the first time I cried all the way through. I have watched it again and again and love it every time. Now I can laugh.
Camelot...This is a different version, it stars Richard Harris, but is a stage production and is SO much better than the 1962 movie version. This was made for HBO in 1982 I think, anyway it was hard to get my hands on it, but I love it.
The Three Musketeers, just good comedy and chivalry and feel good for me.
Nothing special, I don't carry many keys. My car key, the truck key, front door and back door. The important part is the little card that gets my groceries cheaper at Smith's and Albertson's!
OK let me tell you I have MANY favorite treats, but this is the only one in the house right now, and I had to get it from the freezer. Can't wait to bake it and have a warm slice ala mode!
Something in your home you are proud of...
I love this chimming mantel clock. It is probably the most expensive souvenier I have ever gotten. Bill got this for me in a little clock shop in Leavenworth Washington. A charming place you must visit if you ever get out Washington way.
Melinda and Aaron gave this to us last Christmas and I have yet to add the last grandchild, but it is a crossword puzzle with all our family in it.
Something in your yard that makes you smile...
I had to say it's my roses. These little beauties were the $2.49 grocery store variety that I bought when we first moved to Tooele. They were in little 4" pots. Look at them now! This is their 3rd summer here...they do make me smile:)
Thank you Lindsey for the opportunity to join in this tag! I tag Sarah H, Stephanie B, Calista and Nicia
